Well-wishers raise £30,000 to pay for funeral of two-week-old baby boy killed in pram crash


WELL-WISHERS have raised £30,000 to pay for the funeral of a two-week-old baby boy killed in a horrific pram crash. Ciaran Leigh Morris died after a car driver ploughed into his pram as he was being pushed along the pavement in Brownhills, near Walsall, West Midlands on Easter Sunday. More than 2,000 people, moved by the tragedy, have donated to a JustGiving page set up by Karl Roberts, who stated: "We are trying to raise funds to support the family at this very difficult time.... Among poignant messages posted is one from Hayley Westwood, who wrote: "I'm so so sorry for your loss. No parents should have to go through what your going through. Such sad news. My thoughts are with you both. Rest in peace sweet little angel.... Danielle Birch added: ...RIP little baby boy. Sending my love to your mummy, daddy and family during this extremely, unbearable and daunting time. I hope you all know just how much we will all continue to support you.... Jeannie Hazlewood-Jones wrote: ...Utterly heartbreaking. We hope this helps in any way you need it to." Another said: "No words will comfort you but know that hundreds of people are mourning with you.... Mommy's and daddy's hearts will always ache, we love you more than anything." Ciaran's parents One donor wrote: ...As a mother this has made me feel sick. What those poor, poor parents must be feeling is just indescribable." Another stated: "Wishing gentle peace for Baby Ciaran and strength for his parents to face the future.... Camaron and Cody paid an emotional tribute to their premature son, who was born almost a month early, after he was killed on his ...first outing.... In a statement issued through West Midlands Police with a treasured photo of their baby they said: "Mommy's and daddy's hearts will always ache, we love you more than anything." They added: ...We didn't get to keep you for long but we are happy we had the chance to meet you, look after you and call you our son. Fly high angel.... EASTER TRAGEDY Flowers were laid at the scene of the crash and the boy's great aunt Lisa Forde said the family has been left ...heartbroken.... Another relative said the young couple were "very grateful" to the local community for its huge support. The driver accused of causing the death of baby Ciaran has been sent death threats, a court was told during his first appearance on Tuesday.  James Davis, 34, from Walsall, was allegedly driving his BMW without insurance or a licence when he smashed into the newborn's pram. Prosecutor Mark Cooper told Wolverhampton Magistrates Court that "tensions were running high in the community" as a result of ...the tragic case". He said that threats had been made against the defendant, saying: "There are persons wishing to attack and assault him....
